ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture is a technique of inserting and manipulating filiform (extremely fine and flexible)
needles into the body with the aim of restoring health and alleviating pain.
Researchers using the protocols for evidence based medicine have found good evidence
that acupuncture is effective in treating (1) chronic low back pain (2) neck pain (3)
headaches (4) osteoarthritis of the knee (5) tendonitis at the elbow/tennis elbow (6) shoulder
pain including rotator cuff syndromes.
There is agreement that acupuncture is a safe and effective method of treating pain.
Acupuncturists at The Physio & Massage Institute Ltd are either Registered Physiotherapists or Doctors of Chiropractic Medicine who have completed further post-graduate training in acupuncture.
All of the healthcare practitioners practicing acupuncture at The Physio & Massage Institute Ltd use disposable stainless steel needles for the patients’ safety.
Please contact us at info@physioandmassageinstitute.com or by telephone at 416-423-1862 to discuss acupuncture in greater depth or to schedule an appointment.
